Your privacy is the core of our app's design. Our goal is to collect the absolute minimum information necessary to make the App function.
1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us:
- Account Information: When you create a Co-Sleep account, we collect your Email Address and a Hashed Password. We use this information only to secure your account and allow you to log in.
Information From Your Use of the App:
- "Memorial Mode" Data: Photos and names you add to the Memorial Mode are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, see, access, or store this personal data on our servers. It is 100% private to you.
- "Live Session" Data: Your audio and video streams in a Live Session are end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) and sent peer-to-peer (P2P) directly to the person you are connected with. We do not see, record, or store the contents of your Live Sessions on our servers.
- "Live Session" Connection Data: To establish a connection, our server must generate a "Session Code" and help your device find your partner's device (a process called "signaling"). Our server only facilitates this initial handshake; it does not have access to the session's stream.
- Anonymous Usage Data: We may collect anonymous data to help us fix crashes and improve the app. This may include crash logs and performance diagnostics. This data is not tied to your personal identity.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the minimal information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App.
- Authenticate your account and secure your access.
- Establish the secure, peer-to-peer connection for your Live Sessions.
- Analyze and fix app crashes and improve performance.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data in the following limited circumstances:
- With Third-Party Service Providers: We use Firebase (a Google service) to provide backend services like user authentication and our signaling server. Firebase's use of information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
4. Data Security
We take the security of your data very seriously.
- Your password is hashed.
- Your Live Sessions are end-to-end encrypted.
- Your Memorial data is stored only on your device.
While no electronic transmission is 100% secure, we use industry-standard measures to protect your information.

6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
